Problem:
Creative Labs official drivers doesn't have the Dolby Digital/DTS decoder enabled for SPDIF/IN for Audigy, Audigy 2, Audigy 4 and X-Fi series.
Solution:
First of all, you need the right driver which you can find under "How To's Related Downloads" section of Downloads area.
From there, you can download the Vista 64 driver under "Windows Vista x64 (64 Bit)" subsection or the Vista 32 driver under "Windows Vista x86 (32 Bit)" subsection.
Once downloaded the proper file, extract it in a temporary folder as we will need it later.
Now we need to go into the system drivers folder.
To open it, type "C:\Windows\system32\drivers\" in the "Start Search" box under "Start Menu"

and push ENTER when done

when you are there, find a file named "ctac32k.sys"

right click on it, push RENAME

and change the file name to "CTAC32K.SYS.old", like in the picture, then copy there the file extracted before and reboot.

Now you can enable back Dolby Digital and DTS Decoder from Creative Audio Console

aswell set up other decoder options

(Sorry for the Italian in the last two pictures) |
