Problem:
Hardware installed is not found by the system and is not listed in the Device Manager
(possible)Solution:
Step one: Starting the msconfig appication
To open it, type "msconfig" in the "Start Search" box under "Start Menu",

push ENTER when done and click on "Continue" when/if the "User Access Control" shows up its request for permission.
Step two: Enabling the HAL detection at boot
Click on the BOOT tab as shown below

On the boot panel, click on the ADVANCED OPTIONS button

Check the DETECT HAL option

click ok and again ok then restart.
Final Step: As windows starts, it should redetect missing hardware. If a dialog box from MSCONFIG pops up, ignore it and click OK. Install the needed drivers, restart and you are done.
(optional)Restore MSCONFIG settings
Restart the MSCONFIG application, it should be set to SELECTIVE STARTUP. Set it back to "Normal Startup" and reboot.
