Getting Started

Before extracting the AC package and/or starting it remember to :

- Disable any AntiVirus software, because it could interfere with WaX

- Exclude Soldier Of Fortune folder/subfolder from any indexing software, antivirus scan/autoscan, or any other program which could interfere with WaX

 

Some antiviruses, indeed, returns false positives on WaX executable, some others slow down the checks on pak files.

IN CASE OF YOUR ANTIVIRUS TELLS YOU THAT WAX.EXE IS INFECTED WITH SOME STRANGE VIRUS, JUST IGNORE IT AS IT IS A FALSE POSITIVE.

To avoid further problems, use antivirus "EXCLUDE FROM SCAN/AUTOSCAN" option to disable checks into SoF folder.

 

- Installation -

 

- Register into Dark Avenger Forum

- Extract the zip content into SoF Folder

- Create a shortcut to wax executable into your desktop (or just change the sof one), adding eventual options to be passed to SoF

Example:

"C:\Program Files\Raven\SOF\WaX.exe" +set console 1

- Start WaX

- Type: REGISTER and push return. Now WaX will ask you for a username and password: enter your Dark Avenger Forum username and password.

Now you are enabled to use WaX.

 

- What after that? -

Just type in : LOGIN and enter your Dark Avenger Forum username and password.

After that, just type START and SoF will be started.
